About All Our Pets
|
All Our Pets magazine was started in 1999 and has been in continuous operation since then. The editor of All Our Pets magazine is Dika Golovatchoff, who is principal consultant of the design company digolov design internet consulting, located in Santa Barbara, California. All Our Pets magazine emerged from a project in electronic marketing for the web. Dika’s passion for pets began in the 70’s when she got her first Golden Retriever puppy. In the 90’s she became active with her third Golden, Genevieve, and her Himalayan cat Jasmine. Many of her pets have gone to “pet heaven,” including Genevieve and Jasmine, as well as Basil – her handsome Siamese-Himalayan mix cat, Spice an orange and white long-hair cat, Peaches, and Ginger her first two Goldens (mother and daughter). |

I was born in San Rafael, CA on October 25, 2005. When I was 10 weeks old I went in a bus to a house in Santa Barbara. My mom Dika fed me and took care of me while I was getting bigger. I tried to be very good and smart, but I guess I wasn’t good enough, because my mom got tired or didn’t want me any more and sent me back on the bus to where I came from. Then I lived with another woman for a lot longer. We went to school together every day – but then she got tired of me too and got a new puppy. So I went all the way back from Utah to San Rafael on a bus again. At the Guide Dog school they wanted me to like all these mean men, but I just wanted to go back to a mommy. So I acted really scared and shy and I guess they didn’t like me there either. One day they took my insides out. Then one day I was back on that bus again. This time I went back to my first mom, who seemed happy to see me again. But what a surprise – I wasn’t the only dog anymore – she had another dog who had longer hair and was much darker than me. She was very naughty, but lots of fun to play with and jump on. My mom called her Madeleine, which sounds almost like my name – Adeline.
